About the Role
Join the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services as a Senior Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in transforming intake processes through cutting-edge AI, natural language processing, and machine learning. This high-impact, fully remote contract position is ideal for a proven leader committed to optimizing workflows, driving measurable outcomes, and improving the lives of children at risk. You'll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders at every level, directly influencing the future of child protective services in Mississippi.
Responsibilities
- Lead exploratory interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops to analyze current intake workflows and identify areas for improvement
- Partner with stakeholders and technical teams to design, document, and implement workflow optimizations using AI/ML tools
- Ensure project objectives align with State goals of child protection and resource efficiency
- Develop, reconcile, and communicate workflow insights; contribute to defining key metrics and reporting structures
- Organize and facilitate conference room demonstrations for stakeholders, gathering and documenting actionable feedback
- Draft comprehensive reports, including final project documentation, and incorporate stakeholder input
- Drive Agile development processes, providing scrum leadership and creating high-quality documentation
- Design roadmaps for integrating new technologies into the State's broader ecosystem
- Maintain transparent, consistent communication through regular status and summary reports
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, finance, or related field
- 10+ years as a business analyst with state, local, or corporate clients
- Proven track record in delivering CCWIS solutions, especially intake, call center, and case actioning processes
- Hands-on experience configuring and delivering at least two COTS CCWIS systems, including RedMane Technology platforms
- Expertise in workflow mapping, business outcome analysis, and process improvement leveraging technology
- Demonstrated success collaborating with technical teams and utilizing Agile methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quantify and report on business outcomes using data-driven approaches
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with child protective services data systems
- Experience in developmental projects involving algorithm design and testing
- Advanced knowledge of machine learning or natural language processing applications in public sector environments
