Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive professional with experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in healthcare, research, biotechnology, or technology. This individual will develop a strong understanding of Mayo Clinic Platform's strategic priorities, programs, and capabilities to effectively support executive leadership, foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and drive execution of high-priority initiatives.

Working closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Mayo Clinic Platform leadership, the Program Manager will coordinate strategic priorities, facilitate communication across diverse stakeholder groups, prepare executive communications and presentations, and ensure timely follow-through on key decisions and action items. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with physicians, AI scientists, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and administrative leaders, bringing structure, accountability, and operational excellence to a dynamic portfolio of strategic work.

The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:

  • Coordinate and track strategic initiatives, action items, and workstreams across the Chief Medical Officer's portfolio, ensuring timely execution of key priorities.
  • Coordinate strategic collaborations with academic, healthcare, and industry partners, ensuring alignment on priorities, milestones, deliverables, and next steps.
  • Partner with physicians, AI scientists, data scientists, engineers, researchers, operational leaders, and administrative stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and drive execution across multidisciplinary initiatives.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Mayo Clinic Platform capabilities and Discovery Hub priorities to effectively coordinate scientific, technical, and operational activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Mayo Clinic Platform, Mayo Clinic departments, and external collaborators.
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for high-priority initiatives, proactively tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare executive communications, presentations, briefing materials, and leadership updates for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, agendas, and follow-up to ensure timely execution of decisions and commitments.
  • Navigate institutional processes and coordinate activities across governance, legal, compliance, security, research administration, and other cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Assess operational needs and help develop processes that improve coordination, communication, and execution across strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the Chief Medical Officer and Mayo Clinic Platform on cross-functional workgroups, committees, and strategic initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative, organized, and accountable environment that supports innovation and effective execution across diverse multidisciplinary teams.


Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in education, business, healthcare administration, or related field and 10 years of related or increasing experience; or master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, PMP or related field and a minimum of 6 years related experience.

Additional Experience and/or Qualifications:

  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Knowledge and application of technology processes and standard product management methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
  • Moderate technical skills or willingness to learn hyperscale platform tools associated with environment maintenance and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated competencies in strategic and systems thinking, decision-making, leading, and change management.
