Job description

West Monroe is seeking a Healthcare Managing Director to join our Healthcare Practice. This leader will help grow our healthcare business by developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and delivering business and technology consulting solutions for healthcare organizations, with a particular focus on providers and health systems. The Managing Director will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, lead complex transformation initiatives, and contribute to the continued growth of the Healthcare Practice through business development, talent development, and thought leadership.ย 

What You Will Doย 

Client Deliveryย 

  • Serve as an executive sponsor, engagement leader, and trusted advisor across a portfolio of healthcareย payer,ย providerย and health system clients.ย 
  • Lead complex business and technology transformation engagements, ensuring delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and measurable outcomes.ย 
  • Advise C-suite and senior healthcare leaders on operational improvement, care delivery transformation, digital enablement, and organizational strategy.ย 
  • Provide oversight of project scope, budgets, risks, quality, and stakeholder communications across multiple engagements.ย 
  • Analyze client challenges and recommend practical, innovative solutions that drive sustainable value.ย 
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.ย 
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.ย 

Business Developmentย 

  • Cultivate new client relationships and expand existing accounts within healthcareย providerย and health system organizations.ย 
  • Drive prospecting, networking, and market-facing activities to generate new opportunities and strengthen West Monroe's presence in the healthcare market.ย 
  • Lead opportunity identification, proposal development, solution shaping, pricing, and contract negotiations.ย 
  • Build andย maintainย executive-level relationships across healthcare organizations, industry associations, and strategic partners.ย

Practice Developmentย 

  • Help define and execute the strategic vision, growthย objectives, and operating priorities of the Healthcare Practice.ย

  • Mentor, coach, and develop consultants and practice leaders while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.ย

What You Will Bringย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย required; advanced degree preferred.ย 
  • 12+ years of consulting, healthcare, or professional services experience, including leadership of complex business and technology transformation programs.ย 
  • Deep understanding of healthcareย payers, provider operations, health systems, care delivery models, and industry trends.ย 
  • Demonstrated success developing executive relationships, originating new business, and growing strategic client accounts.ย 
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives involving operational, digital, technology, or organizational change.ย 
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, includingย experienceย engaging C-level stakeholders.ย 
  • Experience leading high-performing teams, mentoring future leaders, and driving practice growth.ย 
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.ย
