Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior, execution-focused leader to drive the adoption, scaling, and value realization of artificial intelligence and process transformation across the Consumer & Business Banking (CBB) organization.

This role is accountable for translating strategy into measurable business outcomes by embedding AI, automation, and data-driven capabilities into core business workflows. The leader will drive end-to-end execution-from opportunity identification through implementation and value realization-while aligning initiatives to key business priorities including growth, operational efficiency, risk management, and client experience.

This is a delivery-focused leadership role, not advisory in nature. The individual will own execution at scale, partnering cross-functionally across Product, Technology, Digital, Risk, Operations, HR, Finance, and Sales to ensure solutions are deployed safely, compliantly, and with measurable impact.

In addition, this leader will drive broader transformation efforts-challenging the status quo, reimagining end-to-end workflows, and embedding AI as a core operating capability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy Execution & Portfolio Leadership

  • Own end-to-end execution of AI initiatives across Consumer & Business Banking, from problem definition through implementation and value realization
  • Translate business priorities into a clear, actionable AI roadmap aligned to financial, risk, and strategic outcomes
  • Establish and manage structured intake, prioritization, and governance processes
  • Drive portfolio alignment, eliminate duplication, and enable reuse of scalable AI capabilities across business lines

AI-Enabled Business Transformation

  • Lead redesign of end-to-end business processes, embedding AI, automation, and analytics into core workflows
  • Identify and deliver high-impact transformation initiatives across sales, servicing, underwriting, and operations
  • Ensure AI solutions are integrated into frontline workflows to drive measurable productivity and client experience improvements
  • Combine process improvement methodologies with AI capabilities to deliver sustainable, scalable outcomes

Use Case Development & Scaled Deployment

  • Proactively identify and prioritize AI and automation opportunities that improve business performance and client engagement
  • Evaluate use cases based on value, feasibility, risk, and organizational readiness
  • Translate business challenges into executable solutions, including AI models, agents, and workflow automation
  • Lead pilot programs and scale successful solutions across the enterprise

Cross-Functional Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead large, complex, cross-functional initiatives across Product, Technology, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Sales
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for AI execution within Consumer & Business Banking
  • Partner with enterprise AI, data, and platform teams to align execution and leverage shared capabilities
  • Ensure disciplined execution across the lifecycle, including risk management, dependency management, and issue resolution

Value Measurement & Performance Management

  • Define and track success metrics, including revenue impact, cost savings, cycle time improvements, and adoption rates
  • Establish executive reporting and dashboards to ensure transparency into performance and value realization
  • Continuously monitor and optimize solutions to maximize business impact

Change Leadership & Adoption

  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled solutions and new ways of working across frontline and support teams
  • Develop and execute communication, training, and enablement strategies
  • Partner with business leaders to address adoption barriers and enhance user experience
  • Establish repeatable adoption and delivery patterns to scale AI capabilities

Governance, Risk & Responsible AI

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards for model risk management, data governance, privacy, and security
  • Operationalize responsible AI practices, including explainability, transparency, and human oversight
  • Prepare the business for regulatory and audit scrutiny related to AI-enabled capabilities
  • Maintain strong governance across the AI portfolio, including intake, lifecycle management, and controls

Operating Model & Capability Development

  • Integrate AI into workforce strategy, operating model design, and organizational structures
  • Enable scalable delivery through a hybrid model of centralized governance and distributed execution
  • Build organizational capability, including AI fluency and citizen development
  • Establish repeatable frameworks, playbooks, and standards for AI execution

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years of experience leading large, complex programs or transformation initiatives with enterprise-wide impact
  • Proven track record leading AI, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives at scale
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives with both direct and indirect leadership responsibility

Preferred Skills & Experience

Leadership & Business Acumen

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services and/or banking
  • Expertise in portfolio management, roadmap planning, and financial management
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to influence in highly matrixed organizations without direct authority

Technical & Transformation Expertise

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML platforms, data strategy, and AI operating models
  • Experience in process improvement, workflow redesign, or operational excellence methodologies
  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into business outcomes and execution plans
