Dishwasher/Dietary Aide

Golden Pavilion Healthcare is seeking a Dishwasher/Dietary Aide responsible for operating and maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwashing equipment and area and delivering food/other items the resident may request from the area of preparation to their rooms and/or apartment. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Dishwasher

    • Adheres to policies and operating procedures.

    • Operates the dish machine to wash dishes, glasses, cups, trays, silverware, and food service equipment. 

    • Ensures all cleaned items meet the service standards required for dining services program.

    • Sets up and cleans dish machine area; checks temperatures and soap dispensing levels.

    • Stores cleaned dishes, glasses, cups, trays, silverware, and food service equipment.

    • Assist in maintaining preparation and service areas in a sanitary condition that meets health code requirements.

    • Sweep and mop the floors in the kitchen and food preparation area.

    • Promptly cleans spills or leaks in the kitchen area and posts caution signs to maintain a safe environment. 

  • Dietary Aide

    • Pour beverages per resident choice as the residents are seated in the dining room for each meal. 

    • Ensure that condiment containers are clean and filled.

    • Obtain meal selection from resident and deliver meal selection to cook for service.

    • Deliver filled plates to tables.

    • Serve meals in courses, removing soiled dishes from one course before providing next.

    • Assist with plating food in the kitchen, as needed.

    • Assist cook with food preparation as needed.

    • Maintain infection control standards.

    • Wash, rinse and sanitize tables and chairs.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations. 

  • Food Handler’s Certification preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.

  • Has compassion and special interest in working with the senior population.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the position's requirements.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
