About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and hands-on Field Technician to join our Operations team and support the deployment, maintenance, and repair of advanced beekeeping and agri-tech systems.

This is a highly hands-on, field-based role. Success in this position requires reliability, persistence, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to work outdoors in agricultural environments throughout the year. While the systems you will support are technologically advanced, this role is focused on field execution, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational excellence rather than engineering design or product development.

This person will work directly in orchards, fields, and bee pastures, helping ensure that our systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably throughout the season.

What You'll Do

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on hive systems and related field equipment.
  • Apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement approved field modifications and upgrades.
  • Install, deploy, and commission systems in agricultural environments.
  • Use technician applications and ticketing systems to receive assignments, document work performed, and report task completion.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical adjustments, component replacements, and field assembly activities.
  • Collaborate closely with field teammates and engineering teams, providing clear and timely feedback from the field.
  • Maintain equipment in a safe, clean, and professional condition.

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Field Technician, Installer, Maintenance Technician, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Practical experience in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow structured maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Comfortable using mobile applications, ticketing systems, and reporting tools.
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and agricultural conditions.
  • Comfortable working around bees and in agricultural environments.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
  • This role will work primarily in Chowchilla, CA but must be able to travel out-of-state for 2-3 months at a time during peak seasons.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience installing, maintaining, or servicing automated or electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with agricultural equipment, machinery, or field operations.
  • Familiarity with beekeeping environments.
  • Experience in a fast-paced field service or operations organization.
