Job Summary

The Aggregate Driver will be responsible for safely driving a multi-axle double-trailer truck for transporting aggregate and asphalt products.

Compensation

$33.36 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Operates an over-length Class A tractor and 2 trailer combination vehicles safely, obeying all traffic laws
  • Performs a pre-trip and post-trip inspection, recording all deficiencies on a DVIR and communicate with maintenance department as necessary
  • Records all necessary daily trips/loads as directed
  • Communicates with dispatch daily for all loads regarding times, material and locations as required
  • Makes necessary adjustments to equipment and material being hauled (e.g. secure tarp and tailgate)
  • Cleans off rails and tailgate of debris
  • Regular washing of vehicle to include all exterior parts of the tractor and bed
  • Keep the inside of vehicle clean, neat and free of garbage
  • Works in a safe manner at all times following all DOT, OSHA, MSHA and CPC safety guidelines
  • Report all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
  • Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management
  • May be required to perform other related duties
Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Valid Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record and doubles endorsement
  • Current DOT Medical Certificate
  • Experience driving a tractor and 2 trailer combination commercial vehicle
  • Use radio to communicate with company personnel
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • Physical requirements: climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), stretching, driving/sitting and shifting gears
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Steel-toed boots are required; ANSI approved PPE will be provided and must be used when required
  • Able to work in wet and/or dry conditions and extreme heat and cold
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol screens as required by Company and DOT regulations
  • Work varying shifts with varying start and stop times and availability on weekends when needed
  • Experience hauling aggregate materials preferred
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing. For work that will be performed in the San Francisco area, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
