Whiting-Turner is looking for a self-motivated, collaborative, and confident individual with a minimum of 2 years of experience leading multi-discipline BIM coordination efforts for either a Subcontractor or General Contractor. Work experience in the Federal sector is strongly preferred. The individual will be trained in our Headquarters office with the intention of future relocation to the Pacific Northwest Region.

Job Description:
This individual will lead various project teams in the execution of a Virtual Building program. They will also be tasked with leveraging BIM and other emerging technologies to promote VDC adoption within Whiting-Turner's Federal portfolio.
Qualified Candidates should:
  • Be proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and interpreting construction schedules.
  • Have an intermediate knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
  • Be adept in coordination management software used to aggregate BIMs and run conflict detection.
  • Thrive in a team environment contributing to both large projects and producing independent work.
  • Have an innately curious, forward-thinking personality to push innovative ideas in all aspects of daily tasks.
  • Be able to multi-task and work concurrently on multiple projects.

Typical Daily tasks include:
  • Reviewing RFPs and specifications for BIM requirements.
  • Developing BIM Execution Plans.
  • Evaluating Design Intent models for constructability and accuracy.
  • Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, and scheduling.
  • Developing BIM scope language for BIM participating trade partners.
  • Leading collaborative meetings with trade partners and designers to resolve above ceiling conflicts using virtual models.
  • Producing clash reports and action items for distribution to all BIM stakeholders.
  • Assisting with Virtual mock-ups and gap modeling specific systems.
  • Generating and tracking RFIs resulting from the Virtual Build Process.
  • Developing composite shop drawing submittals.
  • Testing new software programs and technologies and making recommendations on use for project-specific needs.

Software Proficiency:
  • Excellent General Computing Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products including but not limited to:
    • Revit
    • AutoCAD
    • Navisworks Manage
  • Experience with cloud-based common data environments such as: Sharepoint and Autodesk Forma and Desktop Connector
  • Knowledge of BIM issue tracking software such as: BIM Collaborate and Revizto.
  • Experience with 4D Scheduling Tools (Synchro, Fuzor or similar)
