Position Overview
This is a skilled position where the employee will organize, develop and oversee the Portable aggregate operations for the Utah/Arizona Region.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Safety of all personnel working within the business unit.
  • Safety and environmental stewardship of sites in the business unit.
  • Be willing to travel to remote job sites.
  • Personnel recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and retention. Direct and coordinate daily activities while setting and keeping track of aggregate production goals
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Assist in bullet points and management of Oldcastle reporting procedures
  • Sustain Performance Management initiatives and support Plant Superintendents
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Assist Supervisors and Foremen with day-to-day operations
  • Production reporting and Viewpoint entry management
  • Manage production and product yields and gradations.
  • Direct and coordinate plant equipment maintenance best practices
  • Use of Forecasting Model (DF3) for operations reporting
  • Manage special business group projects and CAPEX jobs
  • PEAK production administrator
  • Development of budgets and management of the operations within the business unit to meet and exceed established budgets.
  • Work cooperatively with other area management to accomplish goals.
  • Drive for Continuous Improvement. Maintain Performance Best Practices.
  • Continuously improving product sales and customer relations.
  • Ensure that Staker Parson Companies is the Preferred Source and an industry-leader in the area served by the business unit.
  • Other duties as assigned per supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Operations, Sales, Quality Control, Customer Service/Dispatch, and Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write clearly and effectively. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of crushing and screening operations.
