Agent Apprenticeship information

What is an Agent Apprenticeship?

An Agent Apprenticeship is a structured training program that combines on-the-job experience with classroom learning to prepare individuals for a career as an agent, typically in industries like insurance, real estate, or talent representation. Apprentices work under the supervision of experienced agents, learning essential skills such as client relations, negotiation, and industry regulations. The goal is to provide practical, hands-on experience while also covering the theoretical knowledge needed to succeed in the field. These programs often lead to industry certifications or licenses, making them a valuable step toward a full-fledged agent role.

What can I expect in terms of mentorship and team support during an Agent Apprenticeship?

During an Agent Apprenticeship, you can expect to work closely with experienced agents who provide mentorship and hands-on guidance. Most programs pair apprentices with a senior agent or team, allowing you to observe client interactions, participate in negotiations, and gradually take on more responsibilities. Team meetings, regular feedback sessions, and shadowing opportunities are common, helping you become familiar with industry practices and build your professional network. This supportive environment is designed to foster skill development and confidence as you progress toward a full agent role.

What is the difference between Agent Apprenticeship vs Real Estate Agent?

AspectAgent ApprenticeshipReal Estate Agent

Work EnvironmentOn-the-job training under supervision, often within a brokerageIndependent or team-based sales within real estate agencies
Industry UsageCommon as a training pathway for new entrantsPrimary role for licensed real estate professionals

In summary, an Agent Apprenticeship is a training program that prepares individuals for a real estate career, often involving supervised work and licensing. A Real Estate Agent is a licensed professional actively selling properties. The apprenticeship serves as a stepping stone to becoming a fully licensed agent.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Agent Apprentice, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Agent Apprentice, you need a basic understanding of the industry (such as insurance, real estate, or talent representation), strong organizational skills, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with standard office software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and sometimes industry-specific licensing or coursework is typical. Excellent communication, adaptability, and a proactive attitude help you build relationships and learn quickly on the job. These skills and qualifications are crucial for supporting senior agents effectively, gaining industry knowledge, and progressing toward a full agent role.

ELIFIN® Apprenticeship Program

10-Week Intensive Training for Future Commercial Real Estate Agents

June 15, 2026 Class | New Orleans, Lafayette, Baton Rouge

Unpaid • High Commitment • High Opportunity

ELIFIN® is Louisiana's #1 commercial real estate brokerage by number of sales. Our top producers earn well into six figures and beyond, work with the highest-caliber clients in the state, and build careers that give them the flexibility to be there for their family and friends.

The Opportunity

The ELIFIN® Apprenticeship Program is how we build the next group of top agents. It is a focused 10-week immersion designed for individuals ready to launch a career in commercial real estate brokerage, trained directly by ELIFIN's CEO and the top producers in our market. This program is built for people already licensed or obtaining their license during the program, who are ready to go all in on building a career as a professional CRE agent.

We are opening up a maximum of four (4) spots in the June 15, 2026 class.

Why ELIFIN®
  • Louisiana's #1 commercial real estate brokerage by number of sales. 2,000+ deals closed and counting. Clients include the CEOs, investors, developers, and business owners shaping Louisiana's growth.
  • Purpose-driven, high-accountability culture. 57,262 prospecting dials in 2025. Year-over-year revenue growth of 40 to 70% for each of the last two years.
  • Proprietary data and technology. AI-powered research tools, automated buyer lists, and market intelligence give our agents an unfair advantage. A traditional brokerage cannot replicate it.
  • $87 million in open commission opportunity across New Orleans, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge in 2025. Territory is wide open for agents ready to compete for it.
  • Everything required to win, already in place. Culture, team, sales system, training, low direct competition, and a track record to back all of it up.
What You'll Do

As an ELIFIN® Apprentice, you will start building the habits, disciplines, and knowledge base that allow new agents to perform at a high level from day one. Over the 10-week program, you will:

  • Train directly with ELIFIN's CEO and our top-producing agents
  • Become an expert in your specialized area of focus
  • Participate in regular training sessions covering the full commercial real estate deal cycle
  • Learn the fundamentals of prospecting, outreach, and cold calling
  • Shadow agents during meetings, pitches, and property tours
  • Gain exposure to marketing strategies, lead generation, and pipeline development
  • Work alongside high performers who move fast and expect excellence
  • Push yourself harder than in any other job you're considering taking out of school

This is an action-driven, high-intensity environment built to prepare you to succeed as a full-time agent. It is not an internship. There is no busy work. You are not doing tasks for someone else. You are building yourself.

Who This Program Is For

You are an ideal candidate for our apprenticeship if you align with the following:

Demographic
  • Recent college graduate or current student in your final semester
  • Prior sales experience is a plus (CRE preferred but not required)
  • Able to live without guaranteed income for the 6 months of ramp time as a new commission-only agent, without working a second job. Success in CRE brokerage requires you to go all in and be totally focused. Our top producers earn well into six figures and beyond.
Geographic
  • Call the market you're applying for "home" and want to stay connected to your community
Psychographic
  • Coachable, driven, and relentlessly opportunistic
  • Want to win, not coast
  • Focused, self-accountable, and able to push through discomfort
  • Value mentorship
  • Enjoy being recognized for results
  • Want freedom, flexibility, and the ability to earn uncapped income
  • Willing to do the hard work necessary to obtain your ideal lifestyle
  • Confident communicating with business owners, investors, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Gritty, likable, curious, competitive, and believe in yourself
What Happens After the Apprenticeship?

The expectation is for top performers to transition into a full-time CRE Agent role at ELIFIN®, where income potential is uncapped and tied directly to your results. Top producers at ELIFIN earn well into six figures and beyond.

Each agent specializes in a certain type of property and location ranging from selling multi-million-dollar apartment buildings to leasing retail space out to the city's hottest new restaurant. From leasing office space to some of the world's largest corporations to selling large industrial warehouses. And those are just a few of the specialties. The agent positions we have available are exciting, fulfilling, and lucrative for exceptional people who are willing to put in the hard work to get what they want out of life.
