Job description

Mobility Independence Is For Everyone

Are you a Phoenix-based advocate advocate committed to improving access to transportation for people with disabilities and older adults in the Phoenix metropolitan area?

Are you experienced in understanding challenges organizations and people face providing safe, reliable, cost-effective transportation for people with disabilities and older adults? If so, would you be interested in a position with UZURV dedicated to expanding use of adaptive transportation through UZURV to solve these challenges?

This is a role in our business development team. It's a combination of community advocacy, local policy, and local business development with a growing company that's on a mission to create accessible communities.

About UZURV

We believe mobility independence is for everyone. UZURV is a high growth national assisted community mobility and technology business. We've been very successful growing the business with public transit agencies to improve ADA paratransit service across the country. Our first program was here in Richmond with GRTC and began in 2017, but we've grown and grown, now providing millions and millions of trips a year in 18+ states and working with 10 of the largest 20 public transit agencies in the country by their ADA paratransit ride volume. It's not by accident. We've grown, because of the quality of our service. UZURV's riders and drivers rate the company extremely highly in satisfaction. We also save our clients often 30-50% on the cost of transportation for people with disabilities and older adults who need assistance.

A little bit about the role...

You will be personally conducting our Phoenix area relationship development efforts. Reporting to the Director of Mobility Advocacy and Business Development, this role is responsible for growth of new business and retention of existing business.

How You'll Make an Impact...

  • Manage local Business Development activities and sales pipeline for an assigned region and accounts.
  • Develop relationships and represent UZURV in your region. Be the "face of UZURV" within advocacy groups, trade shows and industry commissions.
  • Identify and secure contracts with local human service agencies, senior living facilities, non-profits, etc. that have transportation challenges or needs. Focus on establishing long-term partnerships with organizations such as senior centers, disability advocacy groups, and local non-profits to expand UZURV's network. Proactively engage with community stakeholders to understand specific mobility gaps and offer transportation solutions that enhance accessibility.
  • Facilitate the setup of accounts on UZURV's new product platform, and ensure a seamless transition from agreement to active service.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to establish relationships with newly onboarded partners and ensure service quality meets contract specifications and identify referral opportunities for additional growth.
  • Using Salesforce, track and report on regional performance and local stakeholders, ensuring the team meets growth targets.

We are excited about you because...

  • Local Phoenix Knowledge: You live in or around Phoenix and have an existing network or a deep understanding of the local community.
  • Relationship Builder: You are comfortable meeting with both executives and community leaders.
  • Purpose Driven: You care deeply about accessibility, senior services and helping people get where they need to go.
  • Experienced: 5+ years in Business Development, Community Relations, or Human Services. Previous experience in transportation or software is helpful, but community passion is the priority.
  • Organized: Ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities.
  • Flexible: Unconventional working hours - willing to attend evening meetings or community events when needed.

Travel

  • 10% - 15% Travel

Reasons it Pays to Work at UZURV (besides the pay itself...)

UZURV employees understand we are building a company that is greatly needed to improve access to mobility for all of us, regardless of our disabilities, illnesses, or impacts of age. We get daily affirmation from our riders, drivers, and the transportation companies we work with about the innovation, value, and quality inherent in what we bring to market.

In addition to providing our employees with a safe and collaborative environment UZURV also offers:

  • Flexible paid time off (PTO)
  • 401(k) with match
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Disability insurance
  • Flexible spending account (health and dependent care)
  • Life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Adoption Assistance Program
  • Caregiver Support Program
  • Health Care Support Program

Come As You Are

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women, people with disabilities, and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every. single. qualification. At UZURV, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and just workplace. If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with 100% of the qualifications listed, we encourage you to still apply. Our hiring philosophy looks to weed people into our process, not out.

We are also committed to making our hiring process accessible and inclusive for all candidates. Throughout the interview process, we provide transparency into what to expect and include options to request accommodations. Interview invitations include details on how to request support such as captions, advance materials, or other accessibility needs.

If you require accommodations at any stage of the process, we encourage you to reach out-we're happy to support you in a way that allows you to show up at your best.
