About Us

Seniors Helping Seniors is dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults by connecting them with compassionate caregivers who provide companionship, assistance, and support that enables seniors to remain independent in their own homes.

Our Unique Peer-to-Peer Model

What sets Seniors Helping Seniors apart is our innovative peer-to-peer care approach. We match active, engaged seniors with those who need assistance, creating meaningful connections built on shared life experiences, mutual respect, and genuine understanding. Our caregivers aren't just providing services—they're forming authentic friendships based on common ground. This model delivers exceptional benefits:

For Care Recipients:

  • Reduced feelings of isolation and loneliness through genuine companionship with someone who truly understands their generation

  • Greater comfort and trust with caregivers who share similar life experiences, cultural references, and perspectives

  • Enhanced dignity and respect in the caregiving relationship, as peers relate as equals rather than across generational divides

  • Increased engagement in activities, conversations, and social connections

  • Better emotional and mental health outcomes through meaningful social interaction

For Senior Caregivers:

  • Renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment through meaningful work

  • Opportunity to remain active, engaged, and valued in their community

  • Supplemental income during retirement years

  • Social connections and reduction of their own isolation

  • Ability to share lifetime skills, wisdom, and experience

For the Healthcare Community:

  • Better care outcomes due to stronger client engagement and compliance

  • Reduced hospital readmissions through consistent companionship and oversight

  • Cost-effective care solution that addresses both physical and emotional needs

  • Holistic approach that complements medical care with social support

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Business Relationship Manager who will serve as an ambassador for our distinctive peer-to-peer care philosophy. This role goes beyond traditional relationship building—you'll be educating the senior support community about the transformative power of our model and positioning Seniors Helping Seniors as a valued partner in comprehensive senior care. Your ability to articulate the unique benefits of peer-to-peer care and demonstrate how it fills critical gaps in traditional caregiving will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities

Network Development & Partnership Building

  • Identify and establish relationships with key referral sources including healthcare providers, senior living communities, hospital discharge planners, social workers, elder law attorneys, financial advisors, and other senior service organizations

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of community partners and referral sources

  • Create strategic partnerships with complementary service providers to build a holistic support network for seniors and their families

  • Position Seniors Helping Seniors as the go-to solution for addressing senior isolation, loneliness, and the social determinants of health

Education & Advocacy for the Peer-to-Peer Model

  • Serve as a passionate advocate and educator about the benefits and outcomes of peer-to-peer caregiving

  • Conduct educational presentations and workshops for healthcare professionals, social service agencies, and community organizations explaining how our model differs from traditional home care

  • Share research, case studies, and success stories that demonstrate the measurable impact of peer relationships on senior health and wellbeing

  • Help partners understand when and why to recommend peer-to-peer care as part of a comprehensive care plan

  • Address misconceptions about senior caregivers and educate partners on our rigorous training and oversight processes

  • Articulate how our model addresses the loneliness epidemic among seniors, which partners increasingly recognize as a critical health issue

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Seniors Helping Seniors and community partners, ensuring consistent communication and mutual benefit

  • Conduct regular outreach visits, meetings, and check-ins with referral partners to maintain strong relationships and provide ongoing education about our services

  • Provide partners with updates on services, client outcomes, success stories, and resources that support their clients

  • Share testimonials and data demonstrating the impact of peer connections on client satisfaction and health outcomes

  • Respond promptly to partner inquiries and facilitate seamless referrals

  • Create feedback loops with partners to continuously improve our service and demonstrate our collaborative approach

Community Engagement & Thought Leadership

  • Represent Seniors Helping Seniors at community events, health fairs, networking groups, and industry conferences as an expert on peer-to-peer care

  • Deliver compelling presentations that highlight the social, emotional, and health benefits of our unique model

  • Position the organization as an innovator and thought leader in addressing senior isolation and promoting healthy aging

  • Contribute to the broader conversation about senior care by sharing insights on how peer relationships improve outcomes

  • Build credibility for the peer-to-peer approach within the professional healthcare and social services community

  • Participate in relevant professional associations and committees focused on senior services, advocating for recognition of social connection as essential to senior health

Collaborative Problem-Solving

  • Work with partners to identify gaps in their clients' care where peer companionship would be beneficial

  • Help partners understand how our services complement and enhance medical care, therapy, and other professional services

  • Demonstrate how our model can help partners achieve their goals, whether that's reducing readmissions, improving client satisfaction, or addressing social isolation

  • Co-create solutions with partners that integrate peer-to-peer care into comprehensive care plans

Business Development

  • Identify new market opportunities and emerging trends in senior care and support services, particularly related to social prescribing and addressing loneliness

  • Track referral patterns and partnership effectiveness, providing regular reports and insights to leadership

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop partner-focused materials that effectively communicate our unique value proposition

  • Gather feedback from partners to refine messaging and educational approaches about the peer-to-peer model

  • Work toward monthly and quarterly relationship-building and referral generation goals

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10 plus years of experience in Business, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years of experience in relationship management, business development, or community outreach, preferably within healthcare or senior services

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining professional referral networks

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences and explain complex concepts in accessible ways

  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking to groups of varying sizes, with ability to educate and inspire

  • Genuine enthusiasm for our peer-to-peer model and ability to authentically communicate its benefits

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community visits

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the senior care industry, including home care, assisted living, and healthcare systems

  • Understanding of social determinants of health and the impact of isolation on senior wellbeing

  • Existing relationships within the local senior support community

  • Experience working with or caring for older adults

  • Background in sales, marketing, healthcare coordination, or health education

  • Familiarity with evidence-based research on loneliness, social connection, and healthy aging

Personal Attributes

  • Genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors and their families, with deep belief in the power of human connection

  • Natural storyteller who can bring the peer-to-peer model to life through compelling narratives and examples

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Professional demeanor with strong business acumen and credibility in healthcare settings

  • Empathetic listener who can understand the needs of both partners and clients

  • Creative problem-solver who can identify mutually beneficial partnership opportunities and position our model as a solution

  • Organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through

  • Confident educator who enjoys teaching others about innovative approaches to care

  • Mission-driven professional who sees this role as more than business development—as an opportunity to change how communities support their seniors

What Success Looks Like

  • Community partners consistently think of Seniors Helping Seniors first when clients need companionship and non-medical support

  • Healthcare providers recognize and actively recommend peer-to-peer care as part of discharge planning and care coordination
