Job description

Agency Development Representative – Tennessee (Phoenix-Based)

Commonwealth Insurance Full-Time | Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid Eligible)

Who We Are

At Commonwealth Insurance, we're committed to making insurance easier for the agents and customers we serve. We partner with independent insurance agencies to deliver responsive service, affordable personal lines products, and the kind of support that helps agencies grow.

We've built our reputation by being accessible, dependable, easy to do business with, and a true partner to our agents. We don't try to be everything to everyone—we focus on doing what we do well and showing up for our agency partners every day.

As we continue expanding into Tennessee, we're looking for an Agency Development Representative based in our Phoenix office to help support the growth of our newest market.

About the Role

This is a relationship-focused agency development position supporting our Tennessee independent agency partners from our Phoenix headquarters. As we continue building our presence in Tennessee, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for our agency partners—providing sales support, answering questions, identifying growth opportunities, and helping agencies succeed with Commonwealth. As the market continues to grow, we'll expand our field presence, making this an exciting opportunity to help build a new territory from the ground up.

While this role is primarily office-based, you'll have the opportunity to travel to Tennessee periodically for agency visits, trade shows, training events, and new agency appointments. After successfully completing your first 90 days, you'll be eligible to work a hybrid schedule of up to two remote days per week.

If you enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and helping others succeed, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping shape the future of a growing market.

What You'll Do

· Build and strengthen relationships with independent insurance agencies throughout Tennessee by phone, email, and virtual meetings.

· Serve as a trusted resource by helping agents understand our products, underwriting appetite, systems, and competitive advantages.

· Identify opportunities to grow premium with existing agency partners through proactive outreach, account development, and sales support.

· Assist with recruiting, appointing, onboarding, and developing new agency partners.

· Conduct virtual product training, webinars, and sales presentations.

· Collaborate with Underwriting, Licensing, Claims, Marketing, and Customer Service to deliver an exceptional agency experience.

· Document agency activity, follow-ups, and growth opportunities using Zoho CRM.

· Monitor agency production, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to increase profitable growth.

· Represent Commonwealth at industry events, trade shows, agency meetings, and other business development opportunities, including occasional travel to Tennessee.

· Take ownership of your assigned agencies through consistent communication, responsiveness, accountability, and follow-through.

What We're Looking For

· Experience in inside sales, phone sales, business development, account management, agency development, territory management, or insurance sales.

· Proven ability to build relationships, identify opportunities, and grow business through phone, email, and virtual communication.

· Strong phone presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Comfortable conducting virtual meetings, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.

· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience using CRM platforms (Zoho preferred), Microsoft Office, and business reporting tools.

· Self-motivated, coachable, competitive, and driven to achieve results.

· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

· Willingness to travel periodically to Tennessee for agency visits, training, trade shows, and company events.

Preferred Qualifications

· Property amp; Casualty insurance experience or experience working with independent insurance agencies.

· Experience in insurance, financial services, or another relationship-driven sales environment.

· Active Property amp; Casualty license or the ability to obtain one.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.

Why Commonwealth?

At Commonwealth, culture matters. We work hard, support one another, and believe strong relationships are the foundation of long-term success. We're looking for someone who is positive, accountable, and excited to help build something from the ground up.

This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in the growth of our Tennessee operation while remaining based in Phoenix. You'll have the chance to influence a growing market, build lasting agency partnerships, and grow your career alongside a company that's investing in its future.

If you're looking for a position where your relationships matter, your contributions are recognized, and your work directly impact company growth, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation amp; Benefits

· Medical, Dental amp; Vision Insurance

· 401(k) with Company Match
