A-Gas Americas is seeking to hire a full-time Field Service Technician to service the HVAC and specialty gas industries. Are you a personable individual who enjoys working in the field? Job Purpose

Field Service Technicians are the primary service leaders for all A-Gas Rapid Recovery customers within a specific geographic area. They are responsible for job site services, preventative maintenance of equipment, refrigerant cylinder consolidation, and customer interactions. Projects can vary in size, ranging from single residential split systems to large chilling systems that operate with tens of thousands of pounds of refrigerant, as well as projects involving thousands of units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive company truck to designated work sites daily to carry out reclamation and recovery services for refrigerant and other specialty gases as needed.
  • Provide exceptional service and customer support to all clients.
  • Identify additional opportunities for service, gas buy-back, and refrigerant spot buy sales to meet or exceed territory targets.
  • Submit daily work orders and weekly expense reports promptly.
  • Take proper care of your assigned vehicle by keeping it clean, in good condition, and maintained according to the vehicle manual.
  • Operate electric pallet jack as needed.
  • Work safely, and ensure you and others adhere to safety standards.
  • Participate in DOT random drug testing program
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-3 years of related industry or mechanical experience is preferable.
  • Flexibility in working hours. Overtime may be required.
  • Technical knowledge and the ability to adhere to all safety procedures is a must.
  • Computer skills are required, including the ability to type and utilize current technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers.

Licensing and Medical Requirements

  • Must have a state-issued driver's license and be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record.
  • EPA Universal Certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within 14 days of employment
  • Must possess, at minimum, a non-CDL medical card or valid Class C CDL with a HazMat Endorsement

Obtaining a Non-CDL Medical Card

If you do not currently have a non-CDL medical card, it is required that you obtain one within 30 days of your hire date.

Physical Demands

  • This role requires the ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
  • A substantial amount of time will be spent driving in the truck.
  • The employee must regularly stand, sit, walk, use hands for various tasks, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively.
  • This position demands heavy physical work, including occasionally exerting over 100 pounds of force (possibly up to 350 pounds), and/or frequently exerting over 75 pounds of force, and/or constantly exerting over 50 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
