Engage with children in a nurturing and supportive manner, ensuring a positive experience throughout the day.
Develop a deep understanding of each child's needs and abilities, guiding their growth in alignment with Red Caboose's mission.
Create a safe and healthy environment, overseeing the classroom and following established procedures.
B) Parent Relations
Establish open communication with parents through regular updates, fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
Maintain a positive relationship with parents, encouraging involvement in the program and addressing any concerns.
C) Coordination of activities with SAP staff
Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices, promoting a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Participate in program-wide activities, committee work, and staff meetings, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and school spirit.
D) Program Planning and Implementation
Plan engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, ensuring a rich learning experience for children.
Work collaboratively with staff to set short and long-term goals, driving program success.
Maintain a well-organized and inviting classroom environment, regularly updating displays and materials.
E) Other duties
Take responsibility for finding substitutes in case of absence and ensuring continuity of care.
Complete required in-service training and continuing education, staying up-to-date on best practices and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Red Caboose policies, MMSD guidelines, and accreditation standards.
RequirementsD) Skills – Must demonstrate problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
C) Physical - Must be able to participate in physical activities with the children (such as swimming, games and walking field trips); must be able to keep children safe in an emergency (such as moving or guiding children to safety as needed). Must be able to setup/take down cafeteria tables, carry snack, move equipment, etc.
A) Education - Must meet State Licensing requirements for teacher (via the Wisconsin Registry-not DPI); may substitute classes in elementary education, physical education, recreation, or related field.
B) Experience - Prefer at least one year experience; prefer experience with age group of position or equivalent.
