Overview

CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years is seeking a Data Analyst/Engineer to support a high-impact manufacturing data transformation initiative. This role will focus on implementing and supporting an automated coating thin film data analysis solution that improves efficiency and reduces manual engineering effort.

Type: Contract
Job Title: Data Analyst/Engineer
Location: Fairport, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Fairport, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate’s Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical field required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

DOD/ITAR Compliant Required - This is an ITAR facility. DOD compliance requires US Citizens for this role.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and review historical thin film coating data
• Support implementation and deployment of automated data analysis solutions
• Migrate and validate legacy Excel-based coating recipe data into SQL databases
• Develop and maintain statistical process limits and data quality standards
• Utilize Excel formulas, macros, VBA, and validation tools for data analysis and migration
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to troubleshoot custom applications
• Generate and validate test data to ensure migration accuracy
• Track project tasks and provide status updates to stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
• 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or engineering support
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, macros, templates, and VBA
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working with structured data and process-driven environments
• Basic SQL knowledge or willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience
• Manufacturing or process engineering environments
• Data transformation or migration projects
• Database population and validation activities
• Experience converting scattered or unstructured data into standardized formats
