Department Information
The Department of Pediatrics employs nearly 1,000 faculty and staff who work alongside employees of Riley Hospital for Children and students of Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) to make Riley Children's Health Indiana's largest and most skilled pediatric system. Job Summary
Data Analyst (Geospatial Analyst) Indiana University (Indianapolis, IN). Develop, manage, and maintain data related to projects noted above. The Data Analyst will be responsible for data integration from various data systems to assess data quality and feasibility for specific data-related projects and proposals, curate analytic data sets for these projects/proposals, address data quality issues through data cleaning techniques and creative approaches to data management, effectively organize the data while maintaining scrupulous documentation on meta-data and processes, geocode/geoaggregate/geotag data as needed, and develop data visualization deliverables including community dashboards. The Data Analyst is responsible for organizing, storing and analyzing data as efficiently as possible, while always upholding agreed-upon security standards. Performs geocoding, geoaggregation, and geotagging of records to spatially enable data, and develops geospatial indicators related to residential mobility, health and social disparities, and contextual place-based metrics. Reqs. Master's degree in Public Health, Information Science, Urban Planning, or related scientific field plus 4 years¿ experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, GIS Analyst or related occupation. Requires the following experience: 24 months conducting spatial data analysis, including geocoding, geoaggregation, and spatial enablement of datasets to support the development of neighborhood-level indicators and contextual place-based metrics; 18 months integrating and managing large public or administrative datasets to support programmatic research, data quality assessment, and longitudinal analysis; 12 months designing and delivering community-facing data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for diverse stakeholders, including public agencies and nonprofit partners; and, 6 months supporting reproducible workflows and metadata documentation for spatial and social determinant datasets in interdisciplinary research settings.
