Salary: $25-$30 per hour

Pacifica Christian High School Security Guard (Full-Time)

Pacifica Christian High School is seeking a reliable and mission-aligned Security Guard to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and orderly campus environment for our students, families, faculty, and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity to serve students and families while becoming part of a vibrant and purpose-driven school community.


Position Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring campus access points, conducting regular patrols of the campus and surrounding perimeter, supporting a safe arrival and dismissal, and responding calmly and appropriately to incidents as they arise. This is an unarmed position focused on visibility, prevention, and relationship ideal candidates are observant, level-headed, professional under pressure, and able to build positive rapport with high school students while maintaining clear and consistent expectations.


Schedule

  • MondayFriday, full-time (approximately 7:00 AM 4:00 PM)
  • Morning arrival: entry point monitoring and traffic-flow support
  • School day: campus patrols, visitor check-in, access control, lunch and passing-period presence, parking lot and perimeter walk-throughs
  • Afternoon dismissal: exit monitoring and pedestrian safety support
  • Occasional evening or weekend coverage for school events, as needed

Note: Specific post assignments and shift times will be finalized based on campus schedules and operational needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control campus entry points; greet, screen, and log visitors
  • Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols; identify and report safety hazards or unsecured areas
  • Respond to incidents, medical situations, and emergencies in coordination with school administration and, when necessary, local law enforcement or emergency services
  • Support implementation of the school's emergency operations plan, including drills (fire, lockdown, earthquake)
  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs and incident reports
  • De-escalate conflicts and enforce campus policies in a firm, fair, and respectful manner
  • Assist with opening and securing campus facilities


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid California Guard Card (BSIS registration) or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Prior security, campus supervision, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
  • Able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods, indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to document incidents accurately and objectively
  • Comfortable working with high school students and building trust with adolescents
  • Consistent, punctual, and reliable
  • Must personally embrace the mission and vision of Pacifica Christian High School
