Job Overview

We are seeking a highly energetic and experienced Part-time Afterschool Sports Instructor to join our after-school team. As a key member of our educational program, the Sports Instructor will be responsible for creating and delivering engages of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and a commitment to conducting challenging sports lessons to students.

Start date: Monday, August 31st, 2026

Hours: Monday - Friday 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. 

Must be available to commit for the full 2026-2027 school year

Responsibilities 

  • Lead afterschool sports activities with groups of up to 15 students for grades Pre-K 3 - 5th Grade (students are grouped according to their age/grade level band)
  • Design and deliver engaging and effective sports lessons
  • Assist the school's sports coach with basketball and volleyball teams during practices, games, and related competitions
  • Effectively manage the classroom and address students' behavior issues in a positive, professional manner
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with afterschool management regarding student and program-related matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports science, or related field preferred
  • Experience as a sports teacher, or soccer coach
  • Creative and innovative approach to sports education
  • 2+ years of experience teaching sports to students ages 3 years old  to middle school
  • Strong knowledge of various sports and athletic techniques
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and skill levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety and inclusivity in the sports classroom
  • French language preferred

Benefits

The hourly rate for this position will be $50 per hour.
