Children have a natural curiosity that lends itself to science, technology, math, and engineering. At Engineering For Kids, we inspire kids ages 4 to 14 to build on their innate desire for answers by exploring engineering concepts in a fun, hands-on way.
We offer afterschool programs, evening classes, camps, birthday parties, and special events designed to present kids with challenging yet accessible engineering activities from which they can learn and grow.
Job Summary:

We are looking for our next great Lead Teacher!
Requirements:
  • Have experience and enjoy working with children ages 5-12
  • Reliable transportation to travel throughout Dane County (assignments less than 20 miles from residence)
  • Availability between 2:30 -5:00 pm about 2-3 days a week
  • Have great organizational skills and be able to work independently
  • Enjoys technology, math and science concepts
  • Experience presenting to a group, facilitation or training would be a plus
  • Prior experience as an educator or pursuing a degree in the education or engineering field is also a plus
  • Pass a background check

Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to:
  • Collect materials from and return materials to the designed storage areas
  • Support the Lead Teacher in preparing supplies at the beginning of a program
  • Encourage student involvement by ensuring students begin warm-up activities and assisting students on an individual basis
  • Practice excellence in teaching when offering Engineering For Kids programs
  • Ensure classes operate smoothly by conducting tasks such as observing and recording data during student tests, managing supplies during class, and assisting in demonstrations
  • Provide appropriate instruction that considers the unique abilities of every student
  • Constantly strive to improve instruction through reflection and evaluation
  • Demonstrate initiative by seeking additional Engineering For Kids training and further education

Primary Duties:
  • Support Engineering For Kids classes in a professional manner
  • Be courteous and approachable to students, parents, and staff
  • Follow policies of the franchise location which may include, but are not limited to, safety procedures and dress code

Compensation: $30.00 - $30.00 per hour
