Meaningful opportunity to support students in a safe, welcoming after school environment. This is a great fit for an Education student, recent graduate, or someone interested in gaining hands on experience working with students. Training is provided for CPR and First Aid if needed.

About the Role

We are seeking a responsible and dependable After School Program Coordinator to supervise approximately 3 to 10 students from grades 3 through 11 while they wait for late pickup. You will provide a safe, supportive environment where students can complete homework, read, use laptops, have a snack, and participate in quiet activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and ensure their safety and well being
  • Assist students with homework and provide basic academic support
  • Help students communicate with teachers when needed
  • Prepare and organize the room before students arrive
  • Ensure students are settled with snacks and appropriate quiet activities
  • Manage staggered student pickups between 3:30 PM and 5:45 PM, with a grace period until 6:00 PM
  • Coordinate with front desk staff regarding parent communication and student needs
  • Assist with carpool when necessary
  • Maintain a positive, social, and engaging environment
  • Follow all school safety and supervision procedures

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Education, preferably a junior or senior, or completing practicum work
  • Recent college graduates are welcome to apply
  • Experience working with children or students is a plus
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but training will be provided
  • Responsible, reliable, and organized
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with students ranging from grades 3 through 11
  • Able to commit to the required minimum hours with flexibility for additional shifts
