Join our St. Rose of Lima team in Philadelphia as an After-School Activity Specialist and inspire young minds at St. Rose of Lima!

Are you ready for an unforgettable after-school adventure? At St. Rose of Lima, we are on a mission to create an extraordinary after-school experience for students from preschool to 8th grade, and we are looking for energetic, passionate people to join us and make a positive impact while having a blast!

As an After-School Activity Specialist, you will teach and inspire students, pre-school-8th grade , in one of the various activities including art, technology, sports, chess, leadership and teambuilding. Curriculum and supplies are provided for most activities.

Requirements:

  • Activity Background: Preferably possess a background in the activity: Art, Science, Sports, Technology, Chess, Leadership and Teambuilding.
  • Education: Completion of a minimum of two (2) years of college; teaching certification is desirable.
  • Experience:  Previous experience in classroom teaching, educational fieldwork, or working with children in a camp setting is preferred.
  • Monday-Friday 3:30pm-4:30pm
    • Schedule Commitment: Preferred that teachers work each day the program is in session.

    Any schedule changes must be pre-approved by the Site Director and BTB Dean.

    • Required Training: Complete all required IMS and state-mandated training and onboarding.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach & Inspire: Implement IMS curriculum. Actively engage students, offer support, and provide guidance to bring lesson plans to life.
  • Dive Into the OST Day! Promote and lead daily activities and projects with enthusiasm, collaborating effectively with support staff and fellow instructors.
  • Safety & Positive Group Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of students with an emphasis on positive behavior and effective group management. Promptly report any concerns to the Program Director.
  • Be the Ultimate Role Model: Supervise students, while fostering a positive and safe environment.
    • Model and demonstrate all IMS Core values daily.
    • Adhere to all IMS school policies.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, concise, and engaging communication with students, families, peers, and IMS School Leadership.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Directly report to and take guidance from the Site Director, with additional accountability to IMS School Leadership and BTB Dean.

Additional Responsibilities:

    • Push/pull, lift, and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for one (1) to three (3) hours per day
    • Respond to emergencies, including running and ascending stairs without undue exertion.
