Job Overview
Our client, a government Planning & Development department, is seeking a skilled Strategic Business/Data Analyst to support data analysis, reporting, system support, quality assurance, automation, and technical solution delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical capabilities with the ability to communicate findings clearly, validate data and system functionality, and develop maintainable solutions. Experience with Accela Civic Platform or local government planning and permitting systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced data and business analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making; validate data sources, calculations, and methodologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and other visualizations providing accurate and meaningful insights.
  • Develop scripts, applications, and automation using Python, JavaScript, SQL, and APIs to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Advise Product Owners and departmental leadership on system configuration, data quality, reporting performance, and risks.
  • Prepare technical documentation and conduct demonstrations, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing dashboards, integrations, scripts, and automation solutions.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in reporting, data management, and business processes.
