Job description

General Purpose
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the bank. This role develops and maintains financial and operational reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and analytical models to enhance budgeting, probability, analysis, and performance measurement. Working collaboratively with finance, accounting, and business leaders, the Business Intelligence Analyst leverages data from multiple systems to identify trends, improve reporting processes, and provide actionable recommendations that support the Bank's financial objectives, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Transforms raw data into meaningful insights through the design, development, and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Consults with business units to identify data needs, potential solutions, and further reporting possibilities.
  • Collaborates with business units to design business intelligence presentations form ad-hoc report to Microsoft Power BI dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Analyzes data from disparate databases or data sources to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights to identify trends or anomalies.
  • Supports the annual budgeting process, long-range financial planning, and periodic forecasting by developing analytical models and reporting tools.
  • Evaluates existing business unit reports and recommends new technologies or enhancements that have the potential to improve business units information for data driven decisions.
  • Coordinates with business units for testing, quality assurance, and ensure functionality of dashboards or other presentations are acceptable.
  • Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all reporting platforms.
  • Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work and improve processes.
  • Participates in the development of the organization's long-term BI strategy.
  • Works closely with all business units throughout the bank.
  • Work closely with other teams in Finance and business units in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete training to stay current on recent technology, banking, and analytic trends.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability analysis, and financial performance reporting required.
  • Familiarity with banking financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and regulatory reporting concepts preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Fabric for database design, query and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SQL scripting.
  • Leadership skills, creativity, and judgment.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to foster teamwork.

Education or Formal Training:
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Business or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Two or more years working with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required.

Experience:
  • 3 years' experience as business analyst or business Intelligence.

Working Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printers. Travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations on a regular basis may be necessary. Additional requirements include semi-annual disaster recovery testing and occasional application updates on weekends or evenings. May include on-call, after hours, and weekends support when needed.
