Job description

ION Solar is a rapidly expanding, full-service residential solar company with a strong nationwide presence. Our dedicated team is committed to making solar energy accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

Ion Solar isseekinga Service Technician who will be responsible fortroubleshooting and repairofsolar array racking, properly sealing all roof penetrations, and installing all relative equipment. Construction experience is a must, as well as a background in roofing and electrical. Don't miss out on the opportunity to join this incredible team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
  • Complete projects within established policies and procedures.
  • Complete projects within time frames and budgets.
  • Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
  • Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and complaints to the best of your ability.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot Enphase and SolarEdge
  • Utilize a voltmeter to accurately measure electrical voltage, continuity, and resistance for troubleshooting and maintenance purposes
  • Ability to think out of the box and on your own
  • Understanding of how to utilize and read a multimeter
  • Has basic hand tools, impact/drill, and multimeter
  • Basic residential electrical knowledge and experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Proficient math skills to calculate the number of materials needed
  • Ability to use ION technology, such as Paycom, FieldPro, Salesforce, and smartphones
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and be willing to submit to a Motorized Vehicle Report

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • More than 1 year of previous construction experience is required in electrical, roofing, or framing.
  • Solar experience is preferred
  • Electrical and roofing experience preferred
  • OSHA compliance

Driving Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
  • Must use earplugs around loud equipment and wear gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear.
