BESS Journeyman Electrician (Licensed)

Location: Fort Morgan, CO

Pay: $66.33/hour

Project Type: Utility-Scale / Commercial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Construction

Employment Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Project


Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Journeyman Electrician to support a long-term utility-scale BESS project in Fort Morgan, Colorado. This role involves installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical systems for large-scale battery storage equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial/industrial electrical experience and is comfortable working in fast-paced, outdoor construction environments while maintaining high safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and test wiring and equipment for BESS systems
  • Work on AC/DC systems including battery racks, inverters, switchgear, transformers, and disconnects
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-lines, and schematics
  • Bend and install EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit
  • Perform grounding and bonding per NEC and project standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during install and commissioning
  • Assist with battery module installation and system integration
  • Mentor and support apprentice electricians
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
  • Follow all NEC, OSHA, and site safety requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Active Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (REQUIRED)
  • 3–5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC (current edition)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications
  • BESS, solar, or renewable energy experience
  • Experience working on energized systems
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to work independently or lead small crews

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Morgan, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $66.00/hr.
