The Aerospace Logistics Specialist will be responsible for performing day to day responsibilities required to operate and support the Aerospace Industry, and AIT regulatory policy/procedures relating to international and domestic freight forwarding. This position will be directly involved with domestic & import/export operations; including, but not limited to; Aircraft on Ground (AOG), charters for both air & ocean, on board couriers/hand-carries, trade shows and conventions, and projects as required. Maintain a maximum level of customer excellence through efficient timely execution of daily operations, and precise data integrity. This role is not a traditional 9-5 role. We expect our team to be ready to execute critical missions at any given time.

Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support, services, and guidance as part of a control tower to internal company stations which includes quoting, routing, and executing freight shipments across multiple transportation modes and services (domestic, international, air, ocean, cross border, charter, and hand carry operations)
  • Act as the primary contact for designated clients/programs by managing multiple accounts within the Government and Aerospace vertical. Route, track, and investigate shipping problems. Assist in preparing quotes over the phone, in CargoWise, and via email. Proactively Communicate freight status to customers. Verify and update shipment information / update milestones
  • Facilitate international shipment flow by coordinating with internal/external customers, AIT branches, transportation providers, government agencies and overseas agents to ensure operational excellence
  • Work closely with the Global Compliance team to develop and maintain procedures for maintaining compliance with U.S. government laws and regulations including, but not limited to, ITAR/EAR/CFR compliance, import/export documentation, and regulatory changes
  • Manage CargoWise workflows, daily tracker spreadsheet, and overall data integrity on a consistent basis to ensure the highest level of execution. Develop and manage SOPs for internal and external clients and review/update as needed.

Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Required) Experience 3+ years international operations freight forwarding experience (Required)

  Experience working with the Aerospace Industry (Required) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Makes high level decisions on the fly regarding troubleshooting and complex inquiries to meet required delivery dates (RDDs)/deadlines. High Knowledgeable and ability work on multi-million-dollar projects with high complexity into austere environments & locations. High Be intimately involved in the understanding of AIT's finances including, but not limited to: Accounts Receivable, Account Payable, cost allocation, revenue recognition, Billing, quoting, etc. High Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry documentation/communication. Strong analytical and organization skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task. High Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. High Must bring energy and enthusiasm to team efforts. High Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. High Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. High Knowledge of International Air & Ocean export and import business with emphasis on DOD/DOS (Department of Defense and State) regulations. High Ability to function in a high volume and fast-paced environment High Assist in mentoring/developing peers and seek out guidance from others within the organization for the benefit of both parties High Knowledge of CargoWise operations. High Knowledge of Freight Forwarding & Project Management High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) High White Glove customer service to all customers both internally and externally. High Responsible for maintaining confidentiality and need to know information. HighLicenses and Certifications HAZMAT Certification - IATA, IMDG and 49CFR highly (Preferred) - ITAR (Controlled Cargo) (Preferred) - Secret Clearance (Preferred)
