Liaison Engineer

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a registered Liaison Engineer for an opportunity in Rockford, Illinois.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Liaison Engineer performs a variety of engineering work including such areas as reverse engineering including design, including CAD model and drawing creation, production design, manufacturing processing, test and calibration. 

  • Works with various vendors, equipment and disciplines to reverse engineer, design, and manufacture a variety of aerospace parts.
  • Inspection plans are created to assure production, quality, efficiency and volume of manufacturing.
  • Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures.
  • Functions with limited supervision and has some latitude for technical action and budget reallocation decision for assigned projects.
  • Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Schedules work and assigns subordinate engineers to accomplish projects within plan and budget.
  • Reviews progress with management and recommends corrective action along with review of alternatives.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned engineers and technicians.
  • Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • In depth knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and is disciplined in their application.
  • Typically has completed five or more years of engineering experience, may have a Masters degree and may be a registered engineer.
  • Outstanding project engineer performance for min 3 years.
  • Ability to manage projects of medium difficulty.
  • Inductive/Deductive Reasoning.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.
  • Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
