Job description

6K Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced, professional Aerospace Studies Instructor/Trainer to join our team!
Individual will support the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) in selecting, educating, training, and commissioning college students to be officers and leaders of character in the Total Air and Space Force. Additionally, individual will assist in instilling the values of citizenship, national and community service, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in college students. Other duties include:
  • Provide instruction in accordance with AFROTC academic curricula, syllabus, and other AFROTC-directed or emerging training in various settings on and off campus
  • Provided mixed media (visual aids) and innovation to teach the learning and lesson objectives
  • Ensure students are properly tested in class and successfully apply theory in practice during training and assessment events outside of the classroom and the academic year
  • Provide expert training per objectives and other AFROTC Directives
  • Coach, teach, mentor and prepare Cadets to become Commissioned Officers in the United States Air Force
  • Perform the following instruction and training services: plan, synchronize, assist, and coordinate training, IAW the syllabus and Holm Center academic curricula, to include teaching courses, oversight of Leadership Laboratory (LLAB), observation of Cadet physical fitness program, support to recruiting programs, educational administrative support and Cadet administrative support
  • Assist and coordinate training for students and Cadets in cadet Professional Military Training (PMT) and cadet Professional Development Training (PDT).
  • Assist in Cadet Evaluation and testing at Field Training events, off-sites, and in classrooms
  • Plan, prepare, coordinate, and track student and Cadet training requirements
  • Teach and train students and Cadets on required Basic Officer Leadership tasks in the classroom, labs, and Field Training prep
  • Plan, prepare, execute and assess physical fitness training for students/cadets IAW AFI 36-2905
  • Provide written feedback and information to students/cadets on academics performance and significant events at the end of each semester or as individual Cadet needs require
  • Prepare and effectively teach Aerospace Studies Instruction, including Air Force organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Air Force, officership, individual and flight operations, tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Monitor Cadet testing and evaluation, serving as a deterrent to improper test conduct
  • Plan, prepare, coordinate and execute projects to include, but not limited to training events, and ceremonies
  • Must complete the Aerospace Instructor Course (AIC) within six months of first performing services on this contract and meet all qualification requirements
  • Complete the government provided Train-The Trainer (TTT) certification requirements to achieve the following instructor competencies:
  • Effective communication
  • Establish and maintain professional credibility
  • Plan instructional methods and materials
  • Prepare instruction
  • Stimulate and sustain learner motivation and engagement
  • Demonstrate effective presentation, facilitation, and questioning skills
  • Provide clarification and feedback to students
  • Promote retention & transfer of knowledge and skill
  • Assess learning and performance.
  • Evaluate instructional effectiveness
  • Counsel AFROTC students
  • Manage an environment that fosters learning and performance
  • Manage the instructional process through the appropriate use of technology

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Check (NACLC)
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Should have been a Commissioned Officer with a minimum grade of Captain with 6 years of experience in the U.S. Air Force Active Component or 10 years total service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Component for former and current Reserve Commissioned Officers
  • Five years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel to support events, training, and exercises
