KBR Science and Space division is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support Axiom Space and their Safety and Mission Assurance department.
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting aerospace flight parts, assemblies, and related documentation to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. This role supports production and/or maintenance operations by identifying defects, documenting nonconformances, and ensuring proper disposition of quality issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inspect incoming material, in-process assemblies, and finished aerospace products for conformity to requirements
  • Review drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and inspection records for accuracy and compliance
  • Use precision measurement tools and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and borescopes
  • Record inspection results, prepare nonconformance reports, and support corrective action activities
  • Verify that work complies with AS9100, and/or internal quality system requirements as applicable
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns
  • Support audits, quality checks, and process verification activities
  • Maintain traceability and proper documentation of inspection findings and product status
  • Assist with product and process qualification, inspection planning, and technical documentation review

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Requirements:
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
    • Familiarity with inspection tools, measuring equipment, and basic quality documentation
    • Knowledge of AS9100, and nonconformance processes is preferred
    • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED minimum with 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience or a Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical field
  • Years of Experience: 5+ of related experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of aerospace inspection or quality-related experience preferred
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or aviation maintenance
  • Familiarity with first article inspection, receiving inspection, or final inspection
