Job description

Eaton's IS AER FED Aerospace ( Hydraulic Hose & Tubing) division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $ 120,000 a year.

** This role must report on-site M-F at our Middlesex, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available for a qualified candidate currently residing in the USA.
What you'll do:
Position Overview:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the creation, ownership, and improvement of processes throughout the plant. You will also have responsibilities across the plant including the following activities: capital projects, safety improvements, cost reduction / cost out projects, product cost estimating, developing and maintaining production standards and standard work. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will assist in the coordination of the capital spending program, insuring accuracy of BOM and routings within ERP system, and assisting in new product launch during and after implementation.
As a subject matter expert "SME" you would facilitating 8D problem solving, investigating and troubleshooting issues, and presenting conclusions to internal and external customers. Ensure individual and group project objectives are met. Prepares/reviews documents including cost estimates, capital appropriation requests, project schedules, design specifications, process specifications, and equipment specifications. Prepare and present technical reports and conclusions to leadership team members. Coordinate and manage Change Management (MCO's) within plant.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead efforts to proactively identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and reduce Costs, also prioritize safety and develop solutions for open concerns.
• Provide day to day support for the manufacturing team, including investigating, analyzing and troubleshooting for product design, materials, tooling, equipment, production methods and processes.
• Develop or purchase manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling, create and Improve manufacturing documentation, including operator method sheets (work instructions), standard work, and other instruction.
• Employ Value Stream Maps to evaluate process current state and plan/execute future state and implement Cost Reduction projects.
• Identify and implements new manufacturing methods and process modification recommendations for reduction of waste, cost, enhanced safety, or improved delivery.
• Develop cost justification and project plans for new/modified tooling, machinery, or other Capital Projects.
• Coordinate implementation of new products into manufacturing. Creates, reviews and approves product and process test reports necessary to gain customer approval of new or modified product designs.
• Establish, maintain, and audit Engineering Specifications, Bills of Material, Process Routers, Production Standards, and Process FMEA's for new and existing products.
• Participate with multi-functional product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs through the ProLaunch process and identify resource needs for the plant, assist in preparing budgets and major appropriation requests.
• Assists in evaluation of potential and existing suppliers and provides support for resolution of supplier quality concerns.
• Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's goals and philosophies and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3-years of engineering experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• PPAP knowledge and experience preferred.
• Understanding of change management processes.
• Understanding of Lean and 6 Sigma Tools.
• Experience leading large capex projects or new product development projects (PRO-Launch)
• The ideal candidate would have 3 to 5 years' experience in process development.
• Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science.
• Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
• Knowledge of standard manufacturing process in an Aerospace environment preferred.
