Electronics Technician Job Description
The Electronics Technician requires basic skills or understanding of the following:
Practical knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, and maintenance of equipment, and a knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types of models of electronic equipment and systems.
Practical knowledge of communications equipment and special electronic devices: to include, but not limited to, Radio Frequency (RF) theory, alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) power, CATV systems, intercom communications systems (ICS), personal computer systems, audio/visual recording and transmission systems, infrared and night vision devices. Knowledge of commercial state-of-the-art equipment and technological advances to recommend methods to enhance capabilities through modifications and application of evolving technology.
Experience in the use of the MS/Office suite and Windows operating systems.
The Electronics Technician MUST possess the following professional certificates:
 ETA Electronics Modules (EM 1-5) or equivalent.
 BICSI Installer 1 (INSTI) or equivalent.
 Advanced Soldering PACE or IPC 7711/7721
 Tower Safety Instructors Course or equivalent.
 A+
 NET+
 General Radio Operators License (GROL)
 Journeyman Level CET Certification
 Harris Level 3 Repair Certifications
 Aeroflex equipment training or equivalent.
The Electronics Technician requires a minimum of 4 years of Special Mission unit or US Military experience. A working knowledge of the US Army and Joint SOF structure, equipment, capabilities, and techniques is required. The Electronics Technician MUST have a Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible.
