Position Summary
Responsible for the timely execution of gas turbine repair work at the field level. Provide input and assist in the creation and improvement of field service procedures involving field service repairs and inspection processes. Ensure quality Field Service inspections and repairs via precision and attention to detail.
Reports To: Field Services Manager
Work Location: 8310 McHard Road, Houston, TX 77053
Position Responsibilities
  • Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments.
  • Communicate effectively with the field service staff and management.
  • Perform engine/field inspection work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Perform disassembly and reassembly process of gas turbines.
  • Assist the field services team with input and in the creation, improvement and implementation of procedures of field service work procedures and inspection processes.
  • Conduct engine removal and installation.
  • Assist Senior Aero Field Technician in the preparation of field service reports, which include documenting project activities and project updates.
  • Communicate effectively with the Aero Field Service staff and management.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Extensive travel (75% - 90%) is required.
Required qualifications
  • A two-year technical degree in aviation or mechanics and 3 or more years work experience performing service work for Aero-derivative Gas Turbines; OR High School diploma, or equivalent and 5 or more years of relevant work experience in lieu of advanced education.
  • U.S. work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized Visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete the following:
    • Pre-employment drug screen, background check, including a Motor Vehicle Record review.
    • DISA background and drug screen requirements as indicated by a PROENERGY client.
Desired Qualifications
  • A amp;P (Airframe amp; Powerplant) license
  • The ability to travel domestically amp; internationally.
  • Has a demonstrated understanding of aero gas turbine maintenance functions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of performing a borescope inspection of a LM2500/LM6000
  • Knowledge and understanding on the performance of a Hot Section Exchange for a LM2500/LM6000
  • Knowledge and understanding on how to remove and install an LM2500 GG/GT, LM2500 PT, and an LM6000
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to perform the laser alignment of a LM2500/LM6000
  • Knowledge and understanding how to perform engine external and package inspections of the LM2500/LM6000
  • Knowledge and understanding on how to perform various inspections or maintenance activities in the field.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform critical measurements with a variety of specialized tools like a micrometer, Vernier caliper, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide crane operators the proper signals when performing a lift.
  • Demonstrate the ability to properly rig a load prior to performing a lift
