POSITION SUMMARY


AEI Consultants has a new career opportunity available for an experienced Senior CAD Technician / ALTA Survey Specialist to join our expanding Survey division.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing ALTA/Boundary Surveys
  • Preparing legal description calculations for field staff
  • Understanding title commitment and exception documents
  • Operating survey instruments and equipment for a variety of projects such as, topographic, ALTA, boundary, construction, etc.
  • Completing projects in a timely, efficient and effective manner within deadlines and budgets

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of applicable experience in a similar role preferred
  • Expert-level knowledge of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Mastery in reading, interpreting, and determining easements
  • Advanced CAD software skills
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles and legal descriptions
  • Ability to lead and mentor CAD technician team
  • Capable of addressing client comments and coordinating revisions
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel and able to Integrate Excel with AutoCAD and/or GIS as needed
  • Strong understanding of how to coordinate drawings between disciplines and ability to identify drawing conflicts between the disciplines
  • Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities
  • Open to new ideas, innovation, and change
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma/GED diploma required; Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The work environment may be both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work takes place in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor work requires the ability to effectively perform work in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, handle office and/or field equipment, speak and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, balance, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus.
