TRAINING SPECIALIST SENIOR - Aegis BL 9 Combat Systems Coordinator (CSC) / Senior Aegis Fire Controlman (FCA)

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Training Specialist Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Surface Combat Systems Training Command Detachment San Diego (SCSTC Det SD) / Reconfigurable Trainer (RCT4).
Lead/Manage/Support 1. Develops, organizes and conducts classroom and lab training for supporting Surface Combat Systems Training Command Detachment San Diego (SCSTC Det SD) / Reconfigurable Trainer (RCT4) in the mission planning and tactical employment of the Aegis Combat System for Aegis Baseline 9C+ in the development of division officers and department heads returning to the fleet on Aegis BL 9 DDGs/CGs and be able to advise in fleet best practices, current tactical guidance and give training accordingly.

2. Develops, tests, maintains and delivers training programs and related materials in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command training objectives.

3. Teaches approved course content and objectives.

4. Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to comply with approved operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain tactical proficiency.

5. Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine and integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Doctrine optimizing the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in the dynamic operational tactical environment.

6. Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per NETC standards.

7. Prepares; reviews; and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.

8. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.

9. Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.

10. Supports updates of course curriculum on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Training Specialist Senior must have:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
Experience: Minimum Ten (10) years of experience with the Aegis Combat System, specifically possessing Baseline 9C+ experience as a technical operator and Combat System Coordinator (CSC). As a former CSC, the candidate must have served as the principal advisor to the TAO, a BMD Mission Planner, and must be familiar with building and implementing engagement doctrine, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), and Integrated Fire Control (IFC). Candidates will have responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice level training environment. Of the ten years, one (1) year experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems. Real-world tactical experience with Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and BMD Mission Planning is a definite plus. Required additional qualification: All candidates must provide explicit documentation of a Combat Systems Coordinator (CSC) qualification via a designation letter and/or evaluations. NEC V56A combined with NEC V72A or V04C is highly desired. NEC V72A or V04C are desired. Candidates possessing NEC V08A, V65A, V57A, or V45A will also be considered. Instructor NEC 805A or Master Training Specialist (MTS) designation is also highly desired. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be required up to 10% of time. Experienced, qualified instructor at SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is a significant plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
