Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Product Marketing Manager at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for working at the intersection of product development, marketing, and sales with a broad responsibility to develop and implement a marketing strategy roadmap for specific products which includes categories like outdoor, adventure, golf, and dive.
Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Garmin products, marketing process, and markets served
  • Effectively manages products/projects with little oversight
  • Owns marketing plans/strategy for all product development projects within a designated segment
  • Develops new marketing plans/strategies based on research of competitors and internal reflection
  • Coordinates strategic and tactical plans across all marketing areas including advertising, social media, sponsorship, and public relations
  • Applies marketing strategy to new/existing products
  • Defines product positioning for approved products and messaging which communicates the value, benefits, and unique selling points of products
  • Attends industry tradeshows to master knowledge of market(s) served
  • Leads cross-functional teams within marketing communications/marketing for new products and projects
  • Ensures all marketing materials are consistent/accurate
  • Able to present information to immediate teams and cross-functional teams
  • Partners with other team members utilizing feedback while working towards a collaborative outcome, has proficient problem-solving skills, engages appropriate team members to solve problems, and builds relationships across multiple organizations
  • Applies Garmin's Mission, Vision and Values and wants to see Garmin succeed

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Engineering or other related field AND a minimum of 2 years work experience in product or project management or marketing OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated product or project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced, and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills with the ability to generate and support pragmatic solutions that meet Garmin's market launch requirements, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
  • Previous experience working in a team environment
