Advertising internships focus on creating ad campaigns, media planning, and creative content, while marketing internships encompass broader strategies like market research, branding, and product promotion. What is an advertising internship?

An advertising internship is a temporary position, typically for students or recent graduates, that provides hands-on experience in the advertising industry. Interns may assist with campaign planning, market research, social media management, and creative development. This opportunity allows individuals to learn about different advertising roles, build a professional network, and gain practical skills that can help them secure a full-time job in the field.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect during an advertising internship?

As an Advertising Intern, you can expect to be involved in a variety of hands-on projects that support the development and execution of advertising campaigns. Your responsibilities may include conducting market research, assisting with creative brainstorming sessions, helping to coordinate social media content, and analyzing campaign performance metrics. Interns often collaborate closely with account managers, creative teams, and digital marketers, gaining exposure to both the strategic and creative sides of advertising. This role provides valuable opportunities to build your professional network and develop foundational skills for a career in advertising.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an advertising intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Advertising Intern, you need a foundational understanding of marketing principles, strong written and verbal communication skills, and typically a pursuit of a relevant degree such as marketing, communications, or advertising. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, social media tools, and basic graphic design or analytics software (like Adobe Creative Suite or Google Analytics) is highly beneficial. Creativity, attention to detail, adaptability, and a willingness to learn help interns stand out in dynamic agency environments. These skills are crucial for contributing effectively to campaigns, supporting team projects, and gaining valuable industry experience.

Job description

Description:

Sales Associate

Cincinnati, OH

What This Role Is

Advertising Vehicles is hiring motivated individuals who want a real career path—not just a paycheck. Through hands-on coaching, and a proven sales system, you will build the skills and experience needed to pursue a six-figure sales career.

This structured six-month development role includes real sales experience, clear performance milestones, and ongoing support. High performers may advance early into a Local Sales Associate role with a higher base salary and commission eligibility. Continued employment beyond the program is based on successfully progressing into that next-level role.

Who We Are

We are the fleet graphics people.

EST03 Inc., established in Cincinnati in 2003, is the parent company of Advertising Vehicles, Adsposure, and STICK. Together, our companies help brands take their messages to the streets through fleet graphics, transit advertising, and professional installation services. Advertising Vehicles has grown into a premier nationwide fleet graphics provider helping businesses of all sizes turn vehicles into high-impact marketing assets.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re not for everyone — and that’s intentional.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Want to level up your life and career
  • Are outgoing, coachable, and competitive
  • Want to win and expect results from your effort
  • Bring grit and persistence
  • See challenges as problems to solve
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, in-office, team environment

Why Join Advertising Vehicles?

  • Paid, hands-on training with industry leaders --$40,000 starting salary, with higher earnings and commission opportunities at 3-6 months
  • Long term career path — where top performers can earn $150-400k+
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, 401(k) match, PTO, and more!
  • Fun, competitive culture with contests, rewards, and recognition
  • Travel and promotion opportunities as we expand into new markets

What You’ll Do

  • Learn How to Identify New Business Opportunities: Build foundational prospecting skills by learning how to research local businesses, identify decision-makers, and begin outreach through cold calling, referrals, networking, business directories, and other outbound methods.
  • Learn How to Build and Manage a Sales Pipeline: Receive hands-on training in how to organize prospects, track activity and next steps in the CRM, and understand how opportunities move from initial outreach through quoting, closing, and order execution.
  • Develop Discovery and Client Communication Skills: Practice how to ask effective questions, identify client needs, communicate the value of fleet graphics and vehicle advertising solutions, and build confidence in sales conversations.
  • Build Consistent Sales Habits: Learn how to manage daily sales activities, including calls, emails, follow-up, meetings, and other outreach efforts, while working toward clear development and performance milestones.
  • Learn Alongside Experienced Sales Leaders: Partner with account managers and senior sales professionals on quotes, follow-up, client handoffs, project coordination, and client communication while developing full-cycle sales skills.
  • Prepare to Advance into a Local Sales Associate Role: Build the product knowledge, activity habits, sales skills, and confidence needed to progress into a Local Sales Associate position. High performers may have the opportunity to advance before the six-month development program is complete.
Requirements:

What It Takes to Win

  • No prior sales experience necessary; just a strong willingness to learn, accept coaching, and improve consistently through feedback and effort.
  • Bachelors/associate degree in business or related field and/or customer facing work (internship, job, athletics, etc.)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Tech-savvy; proficient in MS Office
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle; ability to travel locally (20–30%)

If you're motivated to build a successful sales career, enjoy connecting with new people, and are ready to learn, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to join Advertising Vehicles!
