POSITION TITLE: Adventure Club Site Manager Teacher (School Age Childcare) at Renner Elementary
SALARY: No less than $19.28 per hour
BONUS: A retention bonus of $1.00 per hour worked will be paid on January 15th and June 15th, pending completion of semester.
REPORTS TO: Community Services Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 36 college credits is preferred. Consideration given to a degree/certification in progress, and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Skilled in written and verbal communication.
- Ability and willingness to supervise associate teacher(s).
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Dependable and reliable in daily attendance.
- Willingness and ability to be educated regarding developmentally appropriate practices with children.
- Continue education and/or professional development as required by the program and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide a friendly and safe environment that encourages exploration and meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of both the individual and the group.
- Interact appropriately with the students and to encourage their involvement in activities.
- Create, with the support of associate teacher(s), daily lesson plans based on curriculum.
- Establish and maintain good written and verbal communication with parents daily as necessary.
- Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior. Report other program/site/classroom needs to appropriate individuals.
- Continue professional development as required by program and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
- Use developmentally appropriate practices and conflict resolution strategies.
- Maintain all paperwork, records, and files as required.
- Follow through with all instruction from supervisor(s).
- Prepare materials and paperwork as required by program needs.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate associate teachers as required. Keep associate teachers informed of all program goals and developments.
- Understand and be able to demonstrate compliance with DESE.
OTHER
- Inform the Program Coordinator of program or individual needs.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Work additional hours or overtime as directed by supervisor.
- Attend meetings and trainings as requested.
- Adhere to school district and program policies.
