MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Video Design Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will design, engineer, and support high-quality audiovisual and video conferencing solutions that align with customer needs and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams to translate technical and operational requirements into well-documented, functional system designs. Through thoughtful engineering, accurate documentation, and thorough system testing, you will help ensure successful project execution and a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Meet with customers and perform site surveys to gather requirements and define project scope.
  • Translate customer needs and architectural drawings into functional AV/VTC system designs, including floor plans and elevations.
  • Design and engineer complex audio, video, and video-conferencing solutions.
  • Develop accurate engineering, programming, and installation labor estimates.
  • Configure, test, and provide technical guidance to integration and installation teams to ensure successful system deployment.
  • Provide local travel support between customer buildings or temporary assignment to alternate locations for special projects.
  • Your standard work schedule will be Monday through Friday, within the core hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 6+ years of experience, or Associate's Degree with 4+ years, or Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of AV industry best practices, including the design and integration of audio, video, and control systems for conference rooms, operations centers, training spaces, and executive environments.
  • Technical proficiency with AV switching systems, commercial audio (audio theory, signal flow, gain structure), DSP technologies (including Dante), basic IP networking concepts, and standard design tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all organizational levels; excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills required.
  • Proven ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional engineering, integration, and installation teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Understanding of networked AV / AV-over-IP architectures and coordination with IT teams.
  • AVIXA CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) Certification.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time. Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers.
