Job description

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Role and Position Objectives:
The Systems Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses, developing system documentation, and providing system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support. The role involves developing and evaluating systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental specifications. The Systems Engineer supports the generation of technical engineering products throughout the system development life cycle and influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework used across multiple products or systems
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses
  • Provides system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support
  • Generates technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools
  • Participates in requirements analysis, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration, and test (verification)
  • Performs interface definition studies of system components and products under direct supervision

Must Have Qualifications:
  • Experience with combat weapon systems and tomahawk missile systems
  • Strong background in the Undersea Domain
  • Strong background in Systems engineer process, concepts, and principles
  • Clear understanding of requirements management and system modeling tools
  • Design experience including development of drawings, specifications, and/or prototypes
  • Experience working with government/Navy organizations, and/or vendor management experience
  • Generation of technical engineer design products through use of applicable standards, best practices, and tools throughout the systems development life cycle

Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS, Cameo, or similar)
  • Experience or desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment designing cutting edge technology
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle complex assignments efficiently
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
