What is an advanced practice provider recruiter?

An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Recruiter is a human resources professional responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring advanced practice providers such as nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives. They work closely with healthcare organizations to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and ensure the placement of qualified APPs in clinical roles. APP recruiters manage the recruitment process from job posting to onboarding, while also staying informed about industry trends and licensing requirements. Their goal is to attract top talent to support patient care and organizational goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an advanced practice provider recruiter?

To thrive as an Advanced Practice Provider Recruiter, you need a strong background in healthcare recruitment, knowledge of advanced practice provider roles, and familiarity with employment regulations, often supported by a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR software, and credentialing databases is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and attention to detail help build strong candidate relationships and facilitate smooth hiring processes. These skills ensure the effective attraction and placement of qualified providers, directly impacting healthcare staffing quality and organizational success.

What are some common challenges advanced practice provider recruiters face when sourcing candidates, and how can these be addressed?

Advanced Practice Provider Recruiters often encounter challenges such as a limited pool of qualified candidates, competition from other healthcare organizations, and the need to ensure a good cultural fit. To address these challenges, recruiters frequently build strong networks within the APP community, leverage specialized job boards, and collaborate closely with clinical leaders to understand specific team needs. Additionally, they may engage in proactive outreach and attend industry events to stay connected with potential candidates and stay updated on evolving credentialing requirements.

Job description

About Us

Advaita Health is committed to a sustainable, integrated model of behavioral healthcare where providers and patients thrive. Our medical providers and therapists work on the same care teams, coordinating directly to ensure patients receive the most effective treatment. Internal referrals between psychiatry, outpatient therapy, and our substance use disorder treatment programs are seamless, giving providers confidence their patients are fully supported.

Our goal for you is simple: to create a place where you can build a lasting career, maintain balance, and provide excellent care without burning out. We support this through:

  • Caseloads and ratios that protect time for meaningful work and growth

  • Mentorship, training, and leadership development

  • Performance measures based on values and competencies, not just numbers

  • Built-in collaboration, reflection, and supervision

  • Technology that supports clinical work rather than obstructing it

Why Join Advaita Health?

  • Work-Life Balance: 28–32 patient-facing hours per week; 30-minute existing patient appointments

  • Full-time salary model (not RVUs)

  • Direct supervision opportunities from one of our experienced psychiatrists

  • Coordination of care with our other medical providers, outpatient therapists, and substance use disorder treatment team

  • $2,000 CME allowance after a probationary period

  • Quarterly bonus potential

  • Liability insurance and credentialing covered

  • 401k match starting in 2026

  • 3 weeks of PTO and 10 paid federal holidays

  • Flexible health, dental, and vision coverage; HSA/FSA options

  • Free life insurance up to $10,000; short- and long-term disability coverage

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with therapy and financial support

  • Free CPR, CPT, and First Aid training

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an advanced practice provider to join the medical team at our outpatient psychiatric branch, Advaita Integrated Medicine (by Advaita Health). This role will be based at our Chapel Hill location at 880 MLK Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill NC 27514.

Qualifications

  • Curious and committed to continual growth

  • Collaborative and team-oriented

  • Skilled, present, and intentional in their work

  • Minimum of a Masters of Science in Nursing or Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited college or university.

  • Must be licensed in the state of North Carolina

  • Minimum of 3 years of psychiatry-specific experience strongly preferred

  • PMHNP-level certification strongly preferred

We don’t expect long hours, but we do expect professionalism, engagement, and a willingness to learn.

Ready to Join Us?

If you’re looking for more than just a job; if you want a medical career where you can grow and provide excellent care in an integrated, sustainable model, we’d love to hear from you.

Please upload your resume in a PDF format, as this is most compatible with our system. Thank you!
