(APP) has been developing and manufacturing complex net-shape components using metal injection molding (MIM) and 3D metal printing technologies for the medical, industrial and defense industries. Our proprietary technologies, ProtoMIM® and Printalloy® position APP as the first choice for some of the largest original equipment manufacturers (OEM) in the country. We design, engineer and produce metal components that improve the performance of our clients' medical devices, hand tools, defense, and sporting goods.

Job Characteristics:
  • This position requires a high degree of specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity
  • Must be driven, determined, and self-disciplined towards achieving timely results
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet customer/internal specifications and quality standards
  • Requires strong communication and follow through to accomplish delegated tasks and assignments
  • MS Office, Solidworks, MasterCam, Adobe
  • Ability to perform final fit up of tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Willingness to learn new skills

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the monitoring, organization, and maintenance of all injection molding tooling
  • Inspection, metrology, fit-up, and documentation of new tools from tool shops
  • Prepare molds for production by properly disassembling and cleaning
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on molds
  • Participate in the mold development process and provide input to ensure robust tooling is designed and fabricated.
  • Support molding engineer during the conditioning of new tools
  • Repair of damaged tooling by use of various tool repair techniques - weld, grind, machine
  • Assist with tooling concept layout
  • Design and build internal tooling and fixtures for sizing, assembly, quality, and sintering
  • Operate vertical mill, surface grinders, CNC, and EDM
  • Track all tooling in process, storage, and inventories ( inside and outside facility)
  • Follow the standards of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 International Standards
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and to required specifications
  • Perform additional duties within the broad scope of the job

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Tool and Die or Machine Tool Technology or Certification in Machining or equivalent
  • 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience
