Job description

Chemical Operator 1
Postion Summary:
The Chemical Operator performs all tasks associated with the production of chemical products, including material staging, equipment operation, in-process testing, and product packaging. This role utilizes both manual and automated systems, along with analytical test results, to monitor, control, and adjust manufacturing processes as needed to ensure the production of consistent, high-quality, in-specification products. The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining safe operations, adhering to quality standards, and supporting efficient production activities.
Key Responsibilities but limited to:
  • Must follow all safety rules, regulations, operating procedures, and corporate/plant policies
  • Wear powered air purifying respirator as needed
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to go up and down stairs
  • Safely operate an industrial truck lift
  • Compounding and staging of raw materials
  • Blending of chemicals and powders
  • Monitoring mixers during the mixing and reaction
  • Use of distributed control systems to control and monitor process
  • Labeling and filling containers with product
  • Take samples of powder and liquids to ensure product quality, stage empty containers, maintain satisfactory housekeeping standards, and prepare equipment for maintence
  • Safely handling industrial chemicals
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment. Including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, googles, gloves and hard hat
  • Complete shop floor paperwork
  • Use of MRP system
  • Participate in company safety meetings and trainings
  • Assist in shipping and receiving

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to use computer
  • Be willing to work any shift
  • strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with others
