The Advanced Manufacturing Manager - Automation & Digitalization leads the transformation of switchboard manufacturing operations through advanced manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and digital solutions. This role is responsible for improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost competitiveness by deploying smart manufacturing practices aligned with Industry 4.0 principles.
The role focuses on a manufacturing facility producing low- voltage electrical switchboards, overseeing the integration of automation, digital tools, and standardized processes across fabrication, assembly, testing, and final integration.
You will make an impact by:
Advanced Manufacturing & Automation
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of automated manufacturing solutions for switchboard production
  • Identify and implement robotics, collaborative robots (cobots), vision systems, and smart tooling to improve throughput, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Standardize manufacturing processes to enable scalable automation and repeatability across product families.

Digitalization & Smart Factory
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives across the plant, including:
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Digital work instructions and operator guidance
  • Real-time production performance dashboards
  • Partner with IT, engineering, and global manufacturing teams to integrate shop-floor systems with ERP, PLM, and quality systems.
  • Lead data-driven manufacturing improvements using analytics, OEE monitoring, and predictive insights.

Process Engineering & Industrialization
  • Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to ensure switchboards are designed for manufacturability, automation, and digital assembly.
  • Lead industrialization of new products, variants, and custom configurations while minimizing complexity.
  • Own factory layout optimization, line balancing, takt time definition, and material flow design.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Lead cost-reduction, productivity, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Drive failure reduction through digital quality controls, automated testing, and mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke).

Leadership & Change Management
  • Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, automation engineers, and technical specialists.
  • Act as a change leader, driving adoption of new technologies and ways of working on the shop floor.
  • Develop technical capability and digital skills within the operations team.

Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all automation and digital solutions comply with electrical safety, machinery safety, and applicable industry standards.
  • Integrate safety-by-design principles into automated equipment and production systems.
  • Support compliance with customer, regulatory, and certification requirements specific to switchboards.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 8-12+ years of experience in manufacturing, with strong exposure to:
  • Electrical product or switchboard manufacturing
  • Automation, robotics, and industrial digitalization
  • Proven experience implementing MES, digital work instructions, or smart factory solutions.
  • Strong understanding of switchboard production processes (fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage transformational change.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

The pay range for this position is $122,951 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
