Job Description

A nonprofit organization in Inglewood is seeking a Program Coordinator to support a youth-focused leadership and development program serving young adults. This is a highly part-time, temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and has experience with youth programs, community engagement, event coordination, or nonprofit organizations.

The Program Coordinator will work directly with a small group of young adults, helping coordinate activities and events while providing guidance and ensuring program needs are handled effectively. This person should be organized, dependable, communicative, and passionate about helping young people develop leadership and decision-making skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support a small group of young adult program participants
  • Meet with the group every other Saturday, with total hours averaging approximately 8–12 hours per month
  • Build positive relationships with participants and provide guidance and support
  • Help participants develop leadership, accountability, and positive decision-making skills
  • Coordinate program activities, meetings, events, and special outings
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, food arrangements, travel/airfare coordination, and other program needs
  • Ensure participants have the information and resources needed for upcoming activities
  • Provide updates and report back on meetings, events, participant engagement, and overall program progress
  • Attend a monthly Zoom coordination meeting on the third Thursday of each month
  • Communicate with program leadership regarding upcoming events, needs, challenges, and progress
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with participants and program leadership
  • Assist with additional program coordination and administrative needs as they arise

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with youth or young adults strongly preferred
  • Experience in youth programs, nonprofits, community organizations, education, mentoring, outreach, or program coordination is a plus
  • Strong organizational and event coordination skills
  • Comfortable leading, guiding, and communicating with young adults
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Dependable and able to follow through on responsibilities with limited supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple logistics and keep activities organized
  • Patient, supportive, professional, and able to serve as a positive role model
  • Must be available for required Saturday programming and monthly Zoom meetings
