New Milford Public Schools is looking for an Excellent Adult Education Teacher for our Credit Diploma Program
Adult Education High School Teacher
Position Title: Adult Education High School Teacher
Location: New Milford Adult Education
Reports To: Adult Education Director
Employment Type: Part-time
Program Operation: Monday-Thursday. Classes run 5-7 and 7-9
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Adult Education High School Teacher to facilitate learning for adult learners seeking to obtain their high school diploma. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment, develop relevant curriculum, and support students in achieving their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to adult learners' needs.
  • Instruction: Deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (e.g., math, science, English, social studies) using diverse teaching methods and technologies.
  • Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assessments, providing timely feedback and support for improvement.
  • Support Services: Identify and address barriers to learning, collaborating with support staff to offer resources such as tutoring and counseling.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation and collaboration.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with students and the community to enhance learning opportunities and promote educational resources.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on educational best practices and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress towards educational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Content area certification 9-12, Adult Education 106 endorsement
