Description
Rec & Roll is a community-based recreation program that emphasizes leisure independence, social interaction, and community integration for adults with disabilities. The Adult Day Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to the participants, as well as program implementation, supervision, and safety. Daily activities may include community outings, fitness, and arts and crafts. The day program is open year-round Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
The ideal candidate is someone who has experience working with people with disabilities, will participate in a variety of activities, takes initiative, and collaborates closely with the Rec & Roll staff in various aspects of activity planning and implementation.
Rec & Roll meets for approximately 49 weeks throughout the year. Must be able to commit to the year with limited days off.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Perform all job tasks within the guidelines of the agency safety program.
• Arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program.
• Follow a structured, daily lesson plan
• Communicate and contribute ideas concerning Rec & Roll, PACE transportation, the participants and program progress, concerns, or issues on a daily basis to the Day Program Assistant Manager.
• Communicate all accidents/incidents to the Head Instructor.
• Complete program and staff evaluations at the end of the program and return to the Day Program Assistants Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
