Reports to: Director of Site Design

This role requires a full-time onsite presence in Durham, NC

 

Target Base Range for this role is $60k-$70k.

Job Summary: As a Site Design Analyst, Architecture & UX, you will work closely with the Director of Site Design, the Site Acquisition and Deployment teams, as well as the Sr. Manager of Brand Content & Creative to develop the visual, spatial, and user experience aspects of IONNA's EV charging stations. A key focus & priority of this role is conducting test fits, evaluating and optimizing station layouts to ensure high-quality, customer-focused experiences at each location.

This position requires both architectural and UX expertise, as you will be responsible for refining station designs, ensuring smooth vehicle and pedestrian flow, and maintaining brand consistency across digital and physical environments. Please note other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct test fits and feasibility studies for potential charging station locations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu to assist in test fits, design and planning studies.
  • Work cross-functionally with Site Acquisition and Deployment teams to align layouts with site constraints and operational needs, while still meeting the needs of product and brand experience.
  • Optimize vehicles and pedestrian flows for seamless customer experiences.
  • Prepare test fit variations and adjust as needed per iterative refinement at a high capacity.
  • Assist in developing new concepts and innovative architectural studies for site plans, floor plans, and layout studies for IONNA charging stations.
  • Create interior and exterior elevations, simple architectural details, and iterative design studies.
  • Research materials, finishes, lighting, and innovative design elements that enhance station aesthetics and durability.
  • Help maintain and update IONNA's architectural design standards and product manuals.
  • Utilize Rhino 3D, Vray rendering software to create high-quality 3D models and visualizations.
  • Produce realistic renderings or animations to support internal design reviews, product development, and marketing efforts.
  • Assist with signage, graphics and branding studies utilizing Adobe creative suite software and AutoCAD.

  • Average Test Fit Turnaround Time
    • Normal Priority: 3 business days
    • High Priority: 1-2 business days
  • Production Target = Max 45 test fit designs per week, demand dependent
  • Demand vs Capacity Ratio:

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Industrial Design, UX/UI, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of architectural design, UX, product visualization, or graphic design experience.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Familiar with Figma and other UX design tools; passion for sustainability & innovation.
  • Proven ability to create 3D renderings and visual presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in EV infrastructure, transportation, or retail (preferred but not required).
