Job description


The Senior Technical Architect is the ultimate technical authority on out-of-process extensions, serverless infrastructure, and performance engineering within Adobe Commerce and ACCS. Within an AI-First engineering culture, this role champions AI-assisted software development, builds AI microservices/agents via Adobe App Builder, and optimizes sub-second Edge delivery performance through automated code reviews and performance modeling.
Responsibilities
  • AI-Driven Extensibility & Agents: Architect out-of-process microservices (Node.js/App Builder) and API Mesh setups, including custom AI agents, webhooks, and automated data pipelines.
  • AI Engineering Standards: Establish best practices for team-wide use of AI code generation, automated test creation (TDD/BDD), AI code review gates, and automated security vulnerability scanning.
  • Performance & Edge Optimization: Optimize Core Web Vitals, Edge caching, and GraphQL query efficiency, using AI diagnostic tools for predictive bottleneck analysis.
  • Core Code Integrity: Enforce coding standards, secure coding practices, PCI compliance, and upgrade-safe App Builder patterns across development teams.
  • Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Rapidly build PoCs for custom AI agent integrations, smart checkout flows, or novel edge blocks using AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications
Experience: 8-12+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years as a Lead/Technical Architect on Adobe Commerce (Magento 2).
AI Proficiency: Advanced competence using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude/ChatGPT APIs) to write, refactor, and test code; experience building or consuming AI/LLM endpoints within App Builder or Node.js services.
Technical Mastery: PHP, Node.js, GraphQL, Adobe App Builder, Adobe I/O Events, React, and Fastly/CDN edge configurations.
Certifications (Preferred): Adobe Certified Master - Adobe Commerce Architect.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $152,118 to $202,730.
