Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Network Solutions Architect who is interested in supporting large information technology projects for our Utility Technologies Solutions team. In this role, you will be driving the execution and delivery of IT projects for our electric utility client. Additionally, you will ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering Leidos' Mission, Vision, and Values.

This position will support a major ADMS Hardware Upgrade initiative focused on modernizing network infrastructure and improving real-time operational reliability. The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise networking expertise, experience supporting mission-critical environments, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and vendor teams.

Location: This position is based in South Plainfield, New Jersey. Qualified candidates must reside within a commutable distance and be able to work onsite at client offices three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, topology documentation, and system integration designs for ADMS platforms and related technologies including SCADA, OMS, DMS, DERMS, and GIS.
  • Define secure network communication paths, firewall requirements, segmentation strategies, and interface standards supporting operational technology and enterprise integration.
  • Document IP addressing schemes, hostnames, VLANs, routing requirements, and connectivity standards for ADMS infrastructure and supporting environments.
  • Perform network resiliency reviews, failure-mode analysis, and technical risk assessments to support high availability and real-time operational performance.
  • Support testing and validation activities related to failover, redundancy, segmentation, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to align network solutions with business and operational objectives.
  • Provide clear technical documentation and communicate complex infrastructure concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support operational excellence through adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8+ years of experience working as a network architect with experience in designing and documenting enterprise network architecture with heavy focus on ADMS. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong background in enterprise networking including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewall administration, segmentation, redundancy, and security zoning.
  • Experience designing or supporting real-time, mission-critical, or operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Proven ability to create technical architecture documentation, network standards, and infrastructure design deliverables.
  • Experience identifying infrastructure risks and implementing practical mitigation and resiliency strategies.
  • Familiarity with utility operational systems such as ADMS, SCADA, OMS, DMS, DERMS, or GIS strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting ADMS modernization programs, OT network transformations, or large-scale infrastructure upgrade initiatives is a plus.
  • Understanding of secure OT/IT integration, telemetry communications, and grid operations environments highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working within utilities or other highly regulated industries preferred.
